Pediatric Sleep & Development Mentor & Doula
Claire is a mother, doula, childbirth educator, and a sleep and development mentor. Upon becoming a mother, Claire quickly realized that everything she had been told about infant sleep was a lie. Set him down for naps? Yeah right. Leave him to cry it out? Not happening. During the first year of her baby’s life as she sat through endless contact naps, Claire began educating herself on biologically normal baby sleep and quickly found out that there is a great and pervasive disconnect between the evolutionary needs of babies and the way that we, as modern parents, are being told to meet these needs. Claire is a believer that when we support our children’s sleep in a responsive, attuned and holistic way, we are giving them so much more than just cuddles- we are teaching them that their needs matter, that the world is a safe place, and that they are unconditionally supported and held. It’s Claire’s deepest desire and greatest goal to shift the modern sleep narrative away from one of separation and disconnect, and to support parents as they lean into their instincts when it comes to their baby’s sleep. It’s time to leave rigid schedules and harsh “training” methods behind us and to move forward in a way that feels mutually nourishing for parents and babies alike.
